Day of The Dead Photo Shoot

My favorite holiday is Dia De Los Muertos also known as The Day of The Dead. It is said to be the night that the veil between the living and the dead is lifted. Mexican cultures create symbolic altars decorated with sugar skulls, photographs, marigold flowers, and food to entice their loved ones back for a visit.  They paint their faces as skulls using colorful and dramatic make-up.

I planned The Day of The Dead photo shoot for about a year. I was lucky enough to have a friend who is learning hair and make up, a sister who is a costumer, and several friends that didn't mind modeling for me.  It was a lot of work and a ton of fun.  Hope you enjoy the photos.
