Old Time Studio Engagement Portraits
Randi and Jim were looking for a studio photographer for an old-time portraits portrait themed photoshoot. They will be using the photos for their wedding invitations which happen to fall on my birthday May 18th. Randi & Jim explained that they are usually a bit shy in front of a camera, but they enjoy getting dressed up in old-time costumes and having their photos captured.
Being new to Hawaii they weren’t sure if they would be able to find the right costumes or find a photographer with a studio to accommodate them. I remembered a fun costume shop (Creative Costumes) in Kealakekua. They invited me to join them while they checked out costumes so we could share ideas. I tend to collect fun accessories and wardrobe items to use on photoshoots, so I brought a sexy red bustier & red feather boa that a friend gave me. Randi found some fishnet stalkings, and Jim found the perfect suit to match our 20’s theme shoot. All I needed was a few props and accessories to set the scene. I think I had as much fun playing dress-up as Randi & Jim. I let Randi & Jim choose between a variety of creative retouching to make sure we captured their style and the mood of the 1920s.
